Minecraft Mods

Yes! You can learn to code creating mods for Minecraft! Minecraft mods are independent, user-made additions and changes to the 2011 Mojang video game. Mods are used to enhance the game-play and create an entirely different gaming experience when compared to standard issue Minecraft. We use mods at Champions Academy to teach young people how to code in either a visual programming language (much like Scratch), or in the JavaScript programming language.

    • Camberwell: $500 per Term (10 Weeks)
    • Doncaster East: $320.00 per Term (10 Weeks, larger class sizes)
  • Cost includes FREE subscription to our modding software and servers
  • Must own a copy of Minecraft JAVA Edition (Once off cost $35 AUD)
    • ​Minecraft JAVA Edition is cross platform so it will work on PC & Mac
    • You can create and order a Minecraft JAVA account here
    • Must have your Minecraft JAVA login credentials (username & password) before class begins

JS Programming


​JavaScript is a general-purpose computer-programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, We use the development of Minecraft Mods at Champions Academy to teach young people how to code in JavaScript! Currently, JavaScript is one of the most popular programming languages in use and is used to build apps, websites, and design games.

Visual Programming


​Our Minecraft Mods curriculum has also been designed to code in a visual programming language much like Scratch. This visual language is drag-and-drop, and is designed for our younger students!

What You Need


​All you need is a Mojang account (owners of Minecraft) and your own Minecraft account! But be careful, it must be the Minecraft JAVA Edition for Windows. The cost is $35 AUD and the Minecraft JAVA Edition for Windows can be purchased here.

NOTE: The Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation and pocket edition for mobile devices.of Minecraft are incompatible with our software.
